~TESTIMONIALS/UPDATES~

Hi Maila!

Booker has had a very 'social' weekend, meeting lots of close friends, family and doggie playmates. 'Puppy on Parade' with everyone wanting to meet him. He was remarkable through it all, I've never seen a dog, especially a puppy greet everyone with such calm friendliness and confidence. I think he must be a wise old soul in a young puppy body. In addition to all the visitors, we went to a nursing facility to see a good friend of mine who has horrible MS. Booker was a star with her and many elderly in wheelchairs. He sat with 3 of them in their laps! He loves the little pool, which he and another puppy's romped in and out of a lot. Then got very muddy. We laughed so hard. We've had a nice quiet day today, which he really needed. Me too!

Even the vet was extremely impressed. He had his next round of shots today, and the Boradella nose drops. He weighed in at 13.8 pounds.

Booker has not had a single accident, slept all through the night last night. Only the first night, he was a little fussy in the crate. He is amazing in every way. I have been wanting to let you know, but just now have had the time.
Please know how grateful I am to you for all you have done to bring forward such a wonderful dog and friend.

I feel truly lucky and honored to have him in my life.! Right now I am outside on my patio with Booker asleep on my feet. Life doesn't get much better.

Enjoy the photos, I'll be in touch.

Maila:
Grady-girl is awesome!!!!  You did a super job with her.  She was great in the car ride home and last night she only cried for less than 5 min once she was in the kennel, at bed time.  I woke up at about 4 am and woke her up to take her potty.  She is so good!  When I take her out back she goes potty and then goes straight to the door when she is finished!!  That is amazing. The vet today said she was obviously taken good care of, she is in perfect health. She is 12lbs (but looks more than that).
Maila, I would love to be a reference for you if some one is looking for one. Thank you for taking such GREAT care of her.  You can tell that you put your heart in to it.
I will be sending you pictures from time to time and dropping you a line.
take care ---

Hi Maila,
Thanks for emailing. Herc is doing great. I think he is about 60 lb now - and he is 6 months old. I'm not sure how much more weight he'll gain. We were thinking he'll be about 75 lb.

He's been to the groomer 2 times. First we just had him trimmed. And, then about 7 weeks ago we gave him a "lab cut". But now his hair is growing back & we decided we like his coat a little bit longer.

He is such a smart boy. He knows so many tricks. He will balance a dog treat on his nose & he'll wait until we say "ok", and then he lets it fall off of his nose & he eats it. He still, of course, does some naughty things - he loves to eat our kids socks. I don't know where he finds them because we are so careful to pick them up, but somehow he always seems to find one - he has probably thrown-up about 15 socks! We are just thankful he hasn't had an obstruction! Hopefully as he gets older he'll stop eating socks. He is so great with our kids, we just love him.

I'll attach a couple photos that were taken last week.

Hi Maila - It was really nice to meet you too!  You guys are so nice.  Ace is doing great!  He slept from 9-5:15, and hasn't cried at all.  He loves his toys, and is driving everyone nuts with the really squeaky ones!  It's been raining since yesterday, so going outside has not been much fun, but he's a trooper and goes everytime to do his business. Thank you for crating him before we got him.  That makes a huge difference.  He does miss his brother tho.  He loves to wrestle, and his teeth are just too sharp.  But he's doing great.  He's seeing the vet tomorrow, so hopefully everything goes good there.  Thanks again for everything!  I'll send you an update sometime soon -

Hi Maila,

It is very hot here now and I have been putting the pool out everyday for the kids & dogs. Marley wants to go in the big pool even though hers is right next to the kids pool. She wants to  play with them. I'm just  afraid she might put a hole through it with her nails. She is doing great still getting the potty training down to a science but has been a very good girl.

I need to download my new pictures and will send them when I do. Marley loves shoes as we are trying to remember to put them up high so she can not chew them. Other than that we are training her to stay, come, heal on the leash and other commands. She has sit and shake down thanks to you.

WIll keep in touch

I just wanted to give you an update on Harley.  He has had a pretty fun filled summer.  He went camping in the mountains on the 4th of July.  He loves to watch me on my motorcycle.  He enjoyed the birds and the deer we saw.

He has gone to the lake 3 times.  Each time he would venture a little farther into the water.  He won't swim out though.  When he gets to where he needs to swim he goes back to shore.  If I take him out deep he will swim back to shore.  He does love to play in the water and on the beach.  If he has his life vest on he will go out in the water a little further.  He also likes to ride the jet ski.  We go out and find birds to chase.  He thinks that is great.  He likes to go fast and turn but he doesn't like to jump waves.

He has just come to like hanging his head out of the window when we drive.  He likes going fast.  He love to run also.  Megan and I are not runners so we go on our bikes.  The neighborhood girls see him run and call him "fast dog" so we call him that when he's running, riding the jet ski or hanging his head out of the car.

Today he finally went to the far end of our yard.  He figured out all of the places he could run and jump.  He likes to jump onto our patio and off of a 4 foot high retaining wall but he still makes me pick him up in and out of the truck and car.  He has much more energy than we have so when he's still going and we can't he goes for walks on the treadmill.  He really likes it.  He looks out the window and walks happily.  When we shut it off he stands on it and looks at us wanting it to move again.

He goes to day care 2 or 3 times a week and has a bunch of dog and people friends.  He found a Goldendoodle on Friday and they played all day.  They never want to let me take him home.  They want him there all of the time.

I weighed him today and he is 48 lbs. he also lost his last puppy tooth today.  He is getting all grown up.  He is barking when he thinks people are in his territory but he does not look vicious at all.  Sometimes we forget he's still a puppy but he still squats to pee so then we remember.  My friends, father and employees all make fun of him because of that.

We will be getting him neutered in the next couple of weeks depending on the vets schedule.  We will send you the confirmation of that when we get it done.

Harley is very well behaved and gives us joy every time we look at him.  We are so grateful for the time and care you took with the puppies so we get them well adjusted.  The dogs also have good parents.  Everyone that sees Harley says he's the cutest dog ever.  We sure think so.  I will try to send you a couple of his summer fun pictures soon

Thank you

Harley, Chris, and Megan

Hello!  He, (Seamus) is SO wonderful!!  He adjusted amazingly fast and has had NO accidents in the house. He slept until about 5 am his first night, then went back to bed for another hour and a half after his potty break.  He’s been AMAZING outside and today, slept until 7 am!!

I can’t thank you and your family enough for such a healthy, happy puppy. He is so smart and SUCH a good boy. He already seems very comfortable here, and gets very, very happy whenever he sees Scott or me (whomever hadn’t been in the house for a while at that point)  He loves his big backyard and his neighbors already and is getting quite good on the leash.  He knows his name and “sits” very well, so we’re working on “stay” and “bring” now.

We’ve taken him lots of places to socialize and in fact, he’s already been to the top of Mt. Evans! (by car, of course)  We went to the vet yesterday and he got 3 new shots and came thru like a champ. The doc was very impressed and said he was in absolutely perfect health. We have another appt in 3 weeks for his next round of shots.  We are so in love with the little guy and already, it feels like he’s always been part of our family.  Again, thank you SO much for raising such a  wonderful boy.  I’ll send pictures as soon as we take any! LOL

We’ll be in touch, and feel free to contact us ANYtime.

Best,
Niki

He did great yesterday. We got him home around 1 and fed him lunch. He was a little picky with his first meal as I'm sure he missed the Estabrook clan. But, he eventually finished it within about 90 minutes. We played with him outside for most of the day unless he was napping. We had a few friends over for dinner and they brought their dog Avery (full grown Bernese Mtn Dog). He got along very well with Avery. After diner around 10, we took him for a walk around the block. When we got home, he went to sleep in his crate and we could not wake him up to come upstairs to bed...So, we let him sleep in the crate. He didn't wake us up at all. I ended up taking him outside at 5:30 as you suggested and he came back in and went back to sleep.

He seems to be adjusting very well. His first lunch was the only slow eating episode. starting last night at dinner, there was no problem with the eating. Today is much the same as yesterday, only no guests. He is alternating between sleeping, eating and laying. He does like to chew things (grass, landscaping wood chips, bird poop) but also likes the Nylabone so as long as we watch him closely, we can divert his attention to the bone.

Thank you very much for raising him so well. We will keep you up to date.

Hi Maila!

How are you? I'm so happy to hear that you had a great vacation. We're doing great! Having Brodie as part of our family has certainly been lifechanging, and for the better! You won't believe it, but at 18 weeks he weighed in at 52 pounds! The vet says he's perfectly healthy and actually just skin and bones (his coat makes him look bigger than he is!)

It was kind of an uneventful summer because we didn't want to take him out of the house much until he completed his shots. But, since we finished the shots we've been really busy. We started with a camping trip in Utah (his first experience in a lot of water- he loved it but won't get his head under the water!)- he gets dirty so fast but it brushes right out of his hair when he dries :-), then we went to my Uncle's ranch in Utah for Labor day weekend. He got to play with 5 other dogs and had the run of over 100 acres for about a week!  Its so funny to watch him play with other dogs because he's still a puppy but so much bigger than everyone else. Its also fun to watch him experience things like horses, birds and other wildlife for the first time.

We also started his first set of training classes. The trainer bumped him up from the puppy class to the advanced beginner class because he's so advanced. Already he is able to heel while walking on leash, sit, stay, come, drop it, leave it, take it, wait, down, up (into the car), and shake :-)  She said he's several months more advanced than other puppies his age. We're considering using him as a service dog (to visit the elderly and children who are sick in the hospital or assisted living facilities) when he's older, of course. We really enjoy volunteer work too, so its something we can do as a family! He has such a great personality and is so friendly.

He started teething last month, too. He's lost all of his puppy teeth (I've stepped on many of them)! He's starting to grow them all back in, but for a while, he only had his front teeth and very back ones- nothing in the middle. So, his eating habits changed a bit and he's had off and on diarrhea for a while now. I'm hoping they're related. At first we thought he was sick, so we took him the vet for a stool sample. He was negative for everything and still has lots of energy so we think its just the teething. What do you think?

He really has been such a joy. He wasn't much of a cuddler when he was little, but now that he's a giant all he wants to do is climb in our laps and stay there :-) We love it of course, but if he gets much bigger its going to be a challenge! And he is the cutest puppy there ever was! Every where we go or walk, people stop their cars on the side of the road to ask about him! I can't let Randy out with him alone, or he's swarmed by women wanting to ask about Brodie! :-) We do love him very much!

I have attached some pictures of him for you. When I get a second, I'll scan it and send a picture that we had taken on the 4th of July of the three of us.

Hope you all are doing well and hope Keziah loves school! We'll be in touch!

Take care,
Jaime

Hey Maila!

So sorry it has taken me forever to get back to you!!!  We've been having so much fun with Riley that things like catching up on email have fallen on the back burner :)  She is doing GREAT - and is just the most wonderful dog... more then we ever could have hoped for! She loves the water, rolling around in tall grass (she gets pouty when I mow), chasing her toys, and playing in general - she's just the happiest little thing and we love her SO much!  She's really growing fast too... it seems like she is getting bigger every day.  She goes into the vet for her third round of shots on Thursday... and the vet just loves her... all of the ladies there are in agreement that she is the cutest Labradoodle they have ever seen! She is wonderful with people, great with kids, and really good with other dogs.  She is just beautiful and has the most wonderful temperament - she is outstanding in every way - and we are so grateful to you for letting us bring her into our lives.

I've attached a couple of pictures here, and would be happy to have you add anything you would like to your webpage.  I can not adequately express to you how impressed we have been with both you, and Riley.  The support and guidance you provided us throughout the process was remarkable, and the puppy you raised was just wonderful as well.  Thank you so much Maila!  I would love to hear from you when you get the time... hope all is well with you too!

Take care and thinking of you,

Hi Maila,

Layla is a dream puppy! She still sleeps 9 hours every night. Wow! She loves people and other dogs, and she easily entertains herself. Today we started puppy class, but she was the only one so I am changing to another class so she can have some puppies around her. There will be another Labradoodle that is 12 weeks old.

She continues to make all the people at the nursing home smile. I'm so glad that they are dog friendly. My principal also told me that she would be totally open to having Layla come in when she is trained to read with the kiddos. She has a big important life ahead of her!

I am attaching some pictures we took today. She is so funny how she eats that I had to take a picture of her. The other dog you will see in the pictures is our dog Hershey. Layla is really growing and feels heavier every time I lift her. I couldn't have asked for a better dog!

To the Estabrooks:

It is such a pleasure to boast about my new favorite topic.....Journey.  It has been over a month since I picked up this new member of our family.  She has grown from the 12 lbs. 5 oz. to 18 lbs. 8 oz.  and her eagerness to learn astounds us.  She is very intelligent, playful and curious. Our biggest challenge at this time is keeping her busy with chew toys so she won't chew on us.  :-)

We appreciate how much love and attention you gave this delightful litter of 13 born on April 1st.  Breeders make a big difference and Maila, you should be so very proud of your efforts.  It is very clear that your heart and soul goes into preparing these puppies to leave your nest. Thanks so much for your patience and kindness during this process.  I hope that the families who have adopted your puppies will post their news and photos on your website.  It is so much fun to learn how they are doing.

Maila, you have definitely found your niche. It is obvious how much you love what you do as you do it so well and care so much.  We are very grateful and extend our heartfelt thanks to you and your family for our sweet and loving girl, Journey.  We will stay in touch!

Warmest regards,

Charyl, Denny and Journey

Dear Maila - and to those considering one of Maila's Labradoodle puppies......

We have been so happy with not only our new little puppy, Baylor, but also with the experience Maila as a breeder has provided.  To all that are considering the Labradoodle breed, AND considering Maila as a breeder:  SAVE SOME TIME - I have already done all of the research for you!  ;-)
Maila will tell you, I'm as analytical as they get, and did a lot of research, not just evaluating the Labradoodle breed, but also comparing Colorado breeders.  Read below, but then I hope you'll also contact me so I can answer any questions you may have.

Maila as a breeder:
*  Maila is clearly 'in this' for the love, not for the money.  In fact, you'll notice that her prices are well below other breeders.  Maila simply loves this breed, and considers it her mission to find good homes for her puppies.  To be honest, Maila was kind of 'interviewing us' to make sure her puppies met our needs, and vice versa.
*  Maila takes incredible care of the puppies before you pick them up, including getting up with them in the middle of the night....she commented that she doesn't sleep for at least 9 weeks!
*  Maila 'crate trains' the puppies to make that adjustment much easier once the puppy is in your home.  In fact, Baylor never once wimpered in his crate at night, and was able to 'make it through' the night without going outside because Maila had done the hard work (and lost a lot of sleep) before we picked Baylor up at 8 weeks old.
*  It isn't just Maila - her hubby and kids are equally committed to the puppies, and they get lots of attention very early.  They also have a wonderful home environment with their own 'house' to shade them from the sun, and lots of hay to romp around in.

Labradoodles:
*  They are as good as they are publicized to be: wonderful temperaments (they just want to please you and be around you), most will not shed, and they are very smart.
*  I have never felt a SOFTER coat of hair on another dog!

Our little 9 week old Baylor has been awesome.  Everyone literally falls in love with him when they meet him.  We were lucky:  Maila recommended the 'lover' of the bunch, and he just wants attention....of course, he gets lots of that in our house.

So again, Maila, thank you for everything. I have absolutely NO hesitation recommending Maila as a breeder. For those considering a puppy from Colorado Mountain Labradoodles, I would be more than happy to talk to you or even have you meet little Baylor....we live in Lonetree.

Hi Maila,

Yes, he really is adjusting well.  He's getting lots of exercise, love and sleep.  We're so lucky to live so close to the park.  I can take him on the leash and it's the perfect short walk to practice walking.  Then we can let him off the leash and just run and run in the big grassy field.  There, he has met a few dogs (some other labradoodles too) and he's also attracting lots of little kids.  They all love him and want to pet him.  They've all been very gentle as has Moses.  He will stop dead in his tracks to watch an older dog and his owner playing fetch with a ball.  He watches very intently as if to be studying the game.  Hopefully, he's picking it up!  :O)  On our first walk home from the park, it was great fun to watch Moses just smile and jump and run the whole way home.  He seemed so happy to have met all of the dogs and people, to have smelled all of the smells and to have been able to freely run and run through the grass.  He loved it!  And boy did he sleep when he got back...I got a lot done. *laughs*

He doesn't seem to mind the crate.  He whimpers a bit at night but we've been letting him out once in the middle of the night to pee and he comes in and goes right back to sleep.  He's really bonding with us and often comes to curl up in my lap or lay his head on my feet.  He's doing well with sitting and we're now starting to work on "Come".  He mostly chews on just his chew toys.  He, very manageably, ventures off to chew on other strange things in the house.  He is easy to distract and does not like Bitter Apple spray so it's not a problem at all.  I am offering him a few frozen treats and he likes those a lot.  I'll also be heading out today to buy a few more chew toys now that I know what he likes.  Oh!  He also really likes running through the sprinklers!  He becomes energized when when he's a little damp.

Thank you for preparing the puppies the way you did.  It really encouraged us to see that he already knew how to sit and that he so easily adjusted to his crate.  He's a healthy, happy boy!  Your care is much appreciated.

Thanks again,
Emily and Eric

Hey Maila,

I thought a January update might be fun.  Bou is the center of the family these days.  He's learned to walk on a leash and even jog for very short distances.  He wants to get right in front and then put on the breaks.  He's easily distracted… He's learned to sit, stay and come.  We're working on heeling and will start working on "Down"and "place". And "no" and "good Boudreaux" are prominent in his lexicon.   He's learning "kennel" for getting in a vehicle or crate.  Boudreaux enjoys sledding with the kids… or at least chasing them up and down the hill.

Boudreaux's back comes just below my knees when we're standing next to each other.  He's growing very quickly and I rather enjoy getting on the floor with him in the evenings.  I don't have a good picture to send today, so I'll take one when I get home from work and will send it soon.  I hope you and your family are enjoying the holiday season.

Best regards,

John

Just an update for you on Iggy. He's grown into a full blown dog. Healthy as a horse. He is very playful and learning very fast. We got the basics down. Working on new tricks all the time. He has been a great addition to the family. He loves the kids and he plays with them all of the time. Iggy likes to grab his bone or a toy and play chase around the playground equipment. Last month we had him neutered as per the agreement on the contract. Hope all is well in your area.

Thank you so much. Iggy is doing great. In that great puppy stage. Loves to play and chase. He has been the greatest with our kids. Loves them and plays with them. Never bark or growled at them. He has grown bigger than I expected. I not sure, but he does weigh in the 90+lbs. Just the most lovable and goofy dog. Here are a few pics of him that I took today.   I will give him the kisses

Hi Maila
How are you doing? Just wanted to send an update on Herc. He is doing great, and he is growing like a weed. He weighed 15lb the day we picked him up and now he is 20lb, so he is growing like a weed. He is eating well & sleeping well. Most nights he makes it through the night without crying at all. And, he goes right into his crate at night without a peep! He is great with the kids & he just loves them! He still has occasional accidents in the house, but I think he is doing pretty well after only 2 weeks! He usually goes to the door and then we know it is time to let him out. He is really smart. He learned how to "sit" after only a few days. Now we are working on "down".  We just love him, he is an adorable puppy!

I'm attaching a few recent pics.

Thanks
Nikki

Below are some referrals from families who adopted puppies from us...these referrals were sent directly to a website administrator  for breeder recommendation...

"My wife Paula and I are writing this recommendation for Maila and CO Mountain Labradoodles.  In the fall of 2009 Paula and I decided that we wanted a Labradoodle puppy to join our home.  We are empty nesters and thought, after reading about the breed, a labradoodle would be the per fact companion for us.  We live in a town home in Centennial near a large park. we began looking at breeders. Right away, Maila's web site stood out. It was complete, well organized and very appealing. Maila's prices, too, were the lowest we found anywhere.  We applied for consideration, and were accepted.
Communications with Maila were exceptional. We received pictures of the parents, Ginger and Kirby right away. Maila then kept us appraised of Ginger's progress.  After the pups were born, Maila sent pictures each week with information about the pups.  We absolutely couldn't wait until  we could visit and play with all of the pups, and in particular Miss Orange (the pup's collar color).  Maila was so wonderful when we arrived.  We met her family and had over an hour to spend with the puppies.  When we picked up Miss Orange, or Amber as we decided to call her, Maila had an entire packet of information for us, including a history of our puppies behavior, with photos, medical information about the parents, a supply of food, training tips and advice... The experience was about as positive as it could have been.
Throughout the entire experience, it was super evident that Maila had the puppies' health, safety, socialization and successful transfer to their new families foremost in all that she did. We still consider Maila a friend, and highly recommend her as a leading breeder in the western United States. "

~~~~~~
"On March 10, 2010 I purchased a puppy, "Joia" from Colorado Mountain Labradoodles. I had been researching for a months for the perfect new addition to our home and Maila Estabrook "rescued" me with answers to my long lines of questions but, it was not until I saw the litter of puppies that I decided that I wanted one. There has never been a moment that I have regretted my decision and Joia has been a wonderful addition to our home.  She is gorgeous (walking her is an issue because EVERYONE wants to meet her:) smart, funny (incredible personality) and above all healthy and loving.  I would not go anywhere else for a puppy as Maila proved to be very knowledgeable and extraordinarily patient with me as I knew nothing about this breed.  I could not be more pleased.
Feel free to contact me should you have any questions. I would be happy to forward pictures of my stunning girl!"
~~~~~~

"We can't tell you how glad we are to be able to send you this referral of Colorado Mountain Labradoodles. We started getting to know Maila Estabrook about a year ago when we decided it was time for another dog. We had been without one for awhile as our youngest has allergies to pet dander. We have never had a labradoodle nor been around many before our experience with CML (Colo. Mtn. Labradoodles). From our very first email to Maila, we have felt so fortunate to have developed a relationship with her. I think that is the key in our satisfaction as customers. Maila is very open and relational which lends itself to accountability. We actually don't feel like customers as much as adoptive parents of our labradoodle and friends with Maila.

From our first inquiries, she has always been available for any questions and loves to hear about all of her pups as they grow. She has a facebook page to keep in touch and has joined our group on DoodleKisses.com. She kept us up to date with emails, photos and videos of the pups as they were growing before selection time came. On selection day, she gave us all the time in the world to get to know all the pups. She asked us to bring some toys and/or a blanket for our pup, Moffat, for crate training, to play with and get used to our scent. When it came time to pick up Moffat she even helped us in the surprise for our kids. Afterwards she would check in via email to see how everything was and if we needed anything or had any questions. Last summer she set up reunion of the litter to which many of us attended. She has even agreed to dog sit for us if we need her too.

I suppose you may want to hear a little about our dog, Moffat. She has been an absolute joy to have! She is very smart and just about the most lovable dog we have ever known. (She thinks she is a 70 pound lap dog... yes we spoil her...) She is very interactional with the family and even lines up for goodbye kisses with my wife and kids when she sees me in uniform ready to leave for work! She is very healthy and we have had no reason to believe she has any problems related to poor breeding. Several times we have tossed around the idea of getting another labradoodle and we wouldn't consider getting one from anyone but Maila.

In summary it is very easy to tell that Maila is a breeder for more than a means of income. You can tell in the photo below how attached she was to our pup. She loves her dogs and we feel a great sense of connection with her as owners. We have made sure she knows to use us as a reference for any potential customer. We can't say enough about CML (or our dog for that matter), and we hope to be able share our experience with others. I hope this letter has given you the information you need to add CML to you website, we can only think that doing so will give you even more credibility. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any more questions."

"My name is Kaja, and I adopted a beautiful standard chocolate F1B Labradoodle from Maila Estabrook of Colorado Mountain Labradoodles in March of 2010.  I researched many breeders and did not take this process lightly.  When I started corresponding with Maila in the Fall of 2009, I was immediately impressed with her courtesy and professionalism.  She would always reply to e-mails in a timely fashion and provide updates on the upcoming litter through her website.  Her dogs are loved and cared for as though they are her children, and the puppies have such a wonderful environment in which they are socialized and treated as Maila's own family dogs.

When "my" litter arrived, Maila would provide weekly e-mails with pictures of the litter and each puppy, complete with weight and personality details from the very beginning.  I could not wait to see the growth each week!  At the age of six weeks, we were able to visit the puppies for the first time and make our selection, and then at eight weeks we took our puppy home.  When we picked him up,  Maila provided us with a scrapbook of the dog's first two months, which was astonishing to me!  She really went through a lot of trouble to make sure each puppy had his own book with his/her daily routine, vet records, and a picture.

My dog, Aspen, is now one year old.  He has been such a joy to my family, and he really does have an exceptional demeanor.  I think this stems from the exceptional breeding and his first two months of socialization in Maila's home.  When I got him, he was already used to kids and the vacuum cleaner!  He was so calm and sweet, yet playful and curious.  Within two weeks he was mostly potty trained, and it took him only about three nights to get used to his crate, which is in our bedroom.  He also did well on leash after a short time of training.  He is healthy and well-adjusted, and very eager to please.  Aspen is very sensitive to others' needs and seems to intuitively understand what each type of situation calls for.  It amazes me how he interacts with children, for example.  When he was still just a very young puppy, he was always calm around babies and would even lay all the way down, with his head on the ground, in front of them, not moving a muscle when they touched him. I think he did/does this so as not to intimidate them.  With the older kids he is playful, but still never overpowering. He has also been around disabled adults on many occasions, and he seems very sensitive to their needs as well, remaining calm and just leaning against them, sitting down. This is not something I have taught him, he has always been this way.  I have, of course, exposed him to many environments from the start, and that is crucial in raising a well-adjusted dog.

Maila has been very involved with the welfare of her litters, and it is clear that she does what she does for the love of the breed. Even after her puppies are gone to their new homes she is concerned about them and encourages updates so she knows "her" dogs are all right.  She also arranges "reunions" so that all the owners can get together and meet, and the litter-mates can see each other again, if possible!

I receive compliments on Aspen wherever we go. People are just amazed by the beauty and demeanor of this dog, and I always give them Maila's information in case they are looking for a dog like this.  A lot of people will tell me there are breeders nearby or that they themselves breed Labradoodles or Goldendoodles.  Well, I have seen a lot of these dogs and there is a huge difference in breeders who are just doing this for the money, and for breeders with standards like Maila.  My Aspen is like a super-fine racehorse in all respects, and I thank her for that.

I recommend Maila to anyone who is interested in a breeder with integrity, knowledge, and compassion."

"After searching for quite some time for a breeder for our soon-to-be labradoodle we landed on Maila's page and were happy to see all the positive feedback others had posted on her site.  We decided to contact her and with a quick response we were asked to fill out a survey to ensure we were suitable candidates.  We found this reassuring as it was soon clear she cared dearly about her puppies and was doing all she could to find them the perfect home. From that point Maila was wonderful to work with and always easy to get in touch with.  She never failed to keep us up to date on the puppies growth, and always answered our numerous questions about preparing for our new addition.  What really put our experience over the top was the day we went to Maila's house to chose our puppy, she treated us just like family.  Her love for the puppies did not end when we took them home, she is always happy to hear their progress and loves a visit any chance she can get! Maila also loves to stay in touch, and to this day she continues to answer our questions.  Maila is a unique breeder in many ways from her passion for breeding, TLC for each puppy, and the fact she is very knowledgeable about health issues as she works as a Vet-tech. We would highly recommend any prospective buyer to strongly consider Maila, you won't be disappointed!"

"Hello. My name is Chris. My wife Megan and I were lucky enough to purchase a Labradoodle from Colorado Mountain Labradoodles in the summer of '08. Working with Maila has been great from the beginning through today. She is very loving with the puppies and they truly are part of her family. She works on potty training, kennel training, name recognition and sit. Harley came almost preprogrammed. The information she gives when you pick up your new family member is very thorough. She is very interactive via the web so while you are waiting to bring your puppy home you can see the latest pictures and even some videos. Even now she schedules reunions for her litters. I would recommend no other breeder to work with for your new family member. "

"We have a wonderful Labradoodle named Manny! He has a great disposition, smart, a quick learner, friendly, gets along well with other dogs and makes a great walking companion. We are stopped daily because he is so cute and well behaved, people want to know what kind of dog he is and where we got him! He is the best dog we have ever had and has been a wonderful addition to our family! Maila is an outstanding breeder and has made several follow up phone calls, emails and set up reunions for the owners and their dogs. We are considering another dog and there will be no doubt as to where we we will go, Colorado Mountain Labradoodles!"

HI Maila:

Daisy is doing just fine. Her first day she didn't eat much but onTuesday she came around and is back to three small meals a day. She was up through the night the first three nights but last night slept from 10pm until I came downstairs at 6:30. Not even a squeak last night. Yeah!

She has had her first vet visit, met the trainer and had a bath already. Quite an exhausting week. When she was at the vet, she couldn't stay awake and literally dropped to sleep in my hand. Her head fell into my hand and she was snoring puppy snores in seconds.

She follows me around all day long and is catching a nap at my feet as I type this to you. She is getting lots of attention from the kids, although the two little ones are still a little nervous when she has her puppy romps. She likes to pounce and wave her paws like a kitten does. And she is a big chewer so I bought some "bitter apple" spray today to save my sofa. That is her favorite. I also bought a bevy of chew toys so that should help to distract her.

I will send you a picture of her in a few weeks so you see the difference in her growth. The vet says she is going to be tall. If you get too lonesome let me know and I will send one sooner. Take care and enjoy the others too (are some of them going home today?).

thanx, cindy

Hi Maila,

I wanted to say hello and give you an update on Grover.  We really love him and feel so lucky to have him.  He has quite the personality.  You were right that he is calm.  I love that he does not jump or get crazy when people come over.  He is still a little shy around strangers, but we are working on that at puppy class.  He is a very quick learner and the star of his class.  Grover is getting very big already, 40 pounds.  Here are some new pictures of him.

Anyway, thank you so much.  We have people ask about him all the time and we highly recommend they contact you if they are looking for a labradoodle.  By the way I love your website.  Its nice to see how his litter mates are doing.
